Ka-Blam!, to be held on Saturday, July 21 at the ToonSeum, is the annual fundraiser supporting the museum. This year’s theme revolves around Pittsburgh taking center-stage as a shooting location for “Batman: Dark Knight Rises.” With the movie’s premiere on Friday, July 20, the Toonseum will hold their “Gotham Nights” the following Saturday, July 21, featuring the “Pittsburgh as Gotham” exhibit (and much more). Pittsburgh’s own Jim Krenn will serve as a special guest and host an early VIP reception and silent auction throughout the night. Silent Auction items will include one-of-a-kind works from both locally and nationally known artists, rare comics, travel vouchers and accommodations for highly desired destinations, gift baskets and more. There will also be music, food and drinks.

From 6:30pm to 11:30pm, details are as follows:
VIP Reception: 6:30pm-8:00pm
Main Event opens at 8:00pm
Toonseum closes at 9pm
Auction winners will be announced at 10:30pm.

About The ToonSeum:
The ToonSeum is Pittsburgh’s museum of Comic and Cartoon art located in the
Cultural District, Downtown. One of only three such museums in the country, the mission of the ToonSeum is to celebrate the art of cartooning. Our goal is to promote a deeper appreciation of the cartoonists and their work through hands-on workshops, community outreach, cartoon-oriented educational programming, and exhibitions of original cartoon art.
